This course explores key developments and events in American history from precontact to the present. Students will examine the historical roots of issues that have influenced the United States, including social, political, economic, and cultural developments. They will analyse the interactions between different groups in American society and explore the impact of significant individuals, movements, and events on the development of the United States. Students will develop their ability to apply the concepts of historical thinking and the historical inquiry process, including the interpretation and analysis of evidence, as they investigate the forces that have shaped American history.
Prerequisite: Canadian History since World War I, Grade 10, Academic or Applied.
